Overwhelmed When Trying to Scrap :-p

Yesterday I made a couple of cards & today I spent several hours reorganizing some of my materials. I'm feeling a little discouraged because I have so many scrapping/cardmaking supplies and so rarely use them. Whenever I try to scrap I end up spinning my wheels, getting overwhelmed, and accomplishing nothing. I have years of pics to scrap and tons of pretty things to use. So, my question to you is: How do YOU get started when you're not sure where to start? Any tricks or suggestions will greatly appreciated! :-)

When I'm stuck, I try a few different things. I usually scraplift something. Or I might use a sketch. Or sometimes, I pick one product I am really excited about, and find a way to use it. :-)

Thanks Ann! How are you feeling? Read your blog & enjoyed the cute little hat pics you posted. I'm so excited for you - and I think it's great that you chose not to know the sex until the baby is born!

well you know what happens to me.... the exact same thing. I like Ann's idea though. I have always been a strictly chronological scrapper--I think the only way I can scrap at all is to just jump in and do something. You make the little album you were telling me about ------ and i will sit and spin for both of us LOL

grabs some photos that you love, a sketch that you love or a layout of someone else's that you love and just do it! as the nike logo says. don't spend too much time contemlating and choosing papers, embellishments. don't second guess yourself. it may not be a masterpiece but the photo are most important and now they will be on a page to go in a scrapbook to enjoy, rather than in a pile to be scrapbooked that is nagging and annoying you. from me, sherri, the fastest scrapper in the world maybe. ha ha

Thanks girls! Brenda I love it that you're willing to spin your wheels for me LOL! Sherri you're right - you are definitely the fastest (& therefore the most productive) scrapper I know! I've spent last week taking care of my mom but Mike took her & Dad home Friday night so I think I will try your all's advice tomorrow! Cross your fingers for me! :-)
